floating shelves
There are two types of shelf available; Wall Shelves which are mounted onto the wall using hidden brackets; & Alcove Shelves which use wooden battons at the back and sides for support. All shelves are supplied with relevant brackets/battons and fixers.

alcove sheves
These shelves are designed to fit in alcoves either side of a chimney breast. Alcove shelves are supplied slightly wider to allow for variations in width of the alcove & must be trimmed to fit. The shelves are made shallower than the depth of the alcove so that the front of the shelf sits slightly back from the front of the chimney breast. The standard depth is 300mm for alcove shelves
wall shelves
Wall shelves are supported at the back by brackets which are hidden once the shelf is mounted. These shelves can only be mounted on a good solid masonary wall. The standard depth for wall shelves is 240mm & thickness is 50mm
Our standard 'regular duty' brackets are made of 7mm diameter hardened steel and must be screwed 80mm into the wall. These are suitable for shelves under 200mm deep.

We have also developed our own 'heavy duty' fixer system using 12mm or 16mm dia steel rod in conjuction with two part polyester resin. Shelves using these brackets can take similar loads to alcove shelves. Fitting them however is a bit more invasive and technically difficult.
